Under general supervision, the Engineering Technician will perform moderately difficult paraprofessional technical engineering work in an assigned area of responsibility including the design and checking of public works projects; and will prepare engineering plans and drawings.

In addition to the above characteristics, any combination equivalent to experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills and abilities would be:
Education and Experience
Equivalent to a high school diploma supplemented by college level course work in drafting, engineering, or a related field.
Three years of responsible paraprofessional field and/or office engineering experience.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or must obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
