Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure is a multi-disciplinary firm of consulting environmental scientists and engineers with offices throughout the United States. Amec Foster Wheeler’s Environmental and Infrastructure division is seeking a EnvironmentalProfessional to join our Kennesaw, GA office and become an integral member of our team.
This person will be a member of a team providing engineering and scientific consulting services to private industry and government clients. This position will support a wide variety of projects. Some of the duties of this position may include:
Performs field exploration, inspections, analyses and provides technical support with supervision
Acts as a data gatherer, prepares charts and runs computer programs
Performs field testing, uses equipment and instrumentation
Interprets data and test results
Prepares field reports, internal correspondence, sections of formal reports
With experience, may supervise subcontractors and / or company employees
Follows company safety standards, site safety standards and provides all required permitting
Contacts vendors, researches literature and regulatory requirements
Conducts engineering, scientific and routine calculations
Prepares and evaluates data sets
Assists in preparing reports and proposal writing
Skills / Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in environmental engineering (M.S. preferred)
0-2 years related experience
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering and scientific principles
Excellent computer applications and spreadsheet skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Prior experience conducting engineering and scientific studies
OSHA 40-hour training for hazardous waste site operations
Master of Science degree in environmental engineering
Field coordination experience
Able to do physically demanding field work such as well and soil sampling, packing heavy shipping containers, etc.
Must be able to travel without limitations and perform unimpeded standing and walking in industrial and field environments for up to 12 hours per workday
Must be physically capable of performing work in H&S personal protective equipment including air purifying respirator
