You are a seasoned project manager who is considered an expert in community transportation and/or land use planning, has strong people and project management skills, and is looking for the next challenge in your career. You have worked for at least eight years in a consulting environment or public entity, with three or more years working as a project manager and have at least that much experience managing staff. As a Senior Associate in Alta’s San Jose office, you will lead innovative transportation projects and manage consultant teams. You will guide and mentor a team of talented planners and analysts, helping them grow as professionals, meet our clients' needs, and collaborate to take projects from vision to implementation. You will manage some of our most high-profile projects and lead business development activities throughout the Bay Area. You will solidify Alta’s reputation as a trusted expert, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm and the active transportation profession.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to take a leadership role working on high-profile active transportation projects throughout the Bay Area and beyond. Our current projects include bicycle, pedestrian and active transportation plans; bikeway and complete streets engineering; trail feasibility and design; Safe Routes to School programs; and education/safety campaigns. You have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred) and have the ability to implement and direct the development of project scopes and budgets, technical planning documents, transportation network analysis, infrastructure improvement recommendations, public outreach strategies, or other similar products. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, project and time management software is important.
