RPFS is currently seeking a strong Junior Level Civil Transportation Engineer-in-Training to fill the position of Track Designer in our Layton, UT location. The role of the Junior Level Engineer-in-Training is to provide design, engineering, and observation activities related to freight rail and transit projects.
The duties of this fast-paced, exciting position include, but are not limited to:
Assist engineers in designing various transportation and civil engineering projects
Perform alignment, draining, utilities, at-grade crossings, and earthwork design using
Microstation, InRail, and occasionally AutoCAD
Cost estimating, specifications, and construction submittals review
Assist in preparation of construction plans for transportation projects
Limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction
Work closely with project managers to execute project deliverables
Do you have:
2 or more years of experience?
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred, will consider commensurate experience?
Proficiency with Microstation, InRail and AutoCAD?
Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat?
Experience dealing with multiple managers?
Effective verbal and written communication skills?
Proven ability to be flexible, proactive, responsive and the ability to work independently?
