The Gatton College of Business and Economics is pleased to invite applications for a lecturer position in business analytics with an anticipated start date of fall of 2019 or spring of 2020. We seek a colleague who is passionate about undergraduate teaching and eager to contribute to the development and delivery of an analytics program in the college of business. Candidates will be expected to teach a variety of courses which may include introduction to business analytics, business intelligence and visualization, data management, data mining and a business analytics capstone. Other courses within the College that are in-line with departmental needs and candidate’s expertise may also be assigned. Candidates with a master’s degree in business, data analytics or a related field or with substantial relevant professional experience will be considered. A terminal degree in data analytics or related field is preferred. A minimum of three years of relevant content experience is required and prior teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level or in a non-academic setting in strongly preferred. Experience with, or a commitment to learning, JMP Pro, SQL, RapidMiner, Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI and Excel is a must.
While the primary responsibilities of this position will be teaching, the ideal candidate would also oversee and coordinate a data analytics lab that supports students and faculty in the acquisition of analytic skills, assist in the administration of the data analytics minor, and serve as the advisor to a data analytics club which is to be formed.
