Responsibilities: This tenure-track position carries responsibilities in the areas of teaching, scholarship, and service. Responsibilities include instruction in a variety of civil engineering courses, achievement in funded research or other funded professional activity, academic and extra-curricular advising of undergraduate students, and service to the university and community. Excellence in teaching, participation in funded research or other professional activity, and service to the university/community are all requirements for tenure. Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications The minimum education requirement for appointment to this position is an earned doctorate in civil engineering (or a related field). Candidates nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered; however, the doctorate must be complete prior to the employment starting date. Specific expertise is required in the field of structural engineering. Expertise/interest and ability to teach a variety of courses in the department is also required. The successful candidate should provide evidence of their commitment to or experience promoting and fostering a learning environment that is supportive of individuals from diverse backgrounds. |
