The Tri-Dam Project is seeking qualified candidates for their Finance and Administrative Manager position. The position serves as the Chief Financial Officer and leads the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices.
The position manages the business and financial aspects of the Tri-Dam Project and Tri-Dam Power Authority, reporting to the General Manager. Plans, develops, and implements programs and systems to maintain and improve the business and fiscal activities of Tri-Dam, including full responsibility for accounting, fiscal reporting, and effective cost-control.
Provides leadership and supervision to 2 direct reports in handling general administrative responsibilities. Represents Tri-Dam at external meetings, such as monthly meetings with the Board of Directors.
- Principals and practices of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. - Techniques of goals setting, work organization and program evaluation. - Pertinent local, State, and Federal laws and regulations. - Budgeting and cost control. - Financial reporting requirements. - Principles and practices of supervision, training, and performance management. - Computer accounting systems, spread sheets, word processing and related systems. - Methods and procedures related to governmental accounting and payroll systems. - Payroll reporting to include quarterly, annual, and PERS reporting.
- Plan, organize, self direct and produce professional quality work products. - Produce accurate and professional fiscal reports. - Establish, implement and maintain a complete accounting and reporting system of financial activities. - Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. - Analyze all aspects of a problem, evaluating alternatives and developing solution opportunities.
Training and Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work in accounting, business administration or related field and 5 years of increasingly responsible accounting experience; including two years of supervisory responsibility. Directly related public sector experience preferred.

Tri-Dam Project and Tri-Dam Power Authority is a partnership between the Oakdale Irrigation District and the South San Joaquin Irrigation District. Together they developed, operate, and maintain the Donnells, Beardsley, Tulloch and Sand Bar projects including the dams, tunnels, penstocks, powerhouses, communications systems, and general offices. These facilities are located on the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus River in Tuolumne County, California.
