Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a full-time position available for a water/wastewater construction inspector. Responsibilities include conducting construction site observations to verify conformance with construction documents and other applicable standards; documenting daily construction activities; coordinating construction material testing; assisting with shop drawing reviews and materials submittals; coordinating construction and client meetings; reviewing RFPs, RFIs and change order requests; communicating with the project manager and team on construction issues, design intent and field conditions. Travel to various project sites will be required.
Successful candidates will have the following:
At least two applicable certifications
AND one of the following:
A bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field
An associate degree in construction management or related field plus at least two years of relevant experience
No degree plus at least four years of relevant experience
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: municipal and/or county utilities; construction techniques for underground water, wastewater and stormwater utility projects; paving and grading; Microsoft Office software. The ideal candidate will also have additional construction certifications (FDOT, AWWA, APWA, ACI, FDEP, etc.) and mathematical and computation skills.
