The Town of Hilton Head Island is seeking an Infrastructure Services Director to serve as Chief Engineer and lead all operations of the Infrastructure Services Department. The department is comprised of three divisions including capital projects, stormwater, and facilities management. The Director also manages partner relationships with outside contractors and vendors and will work with staff to hold those partners accountable for the work performed. As a part of the senior leadership team, the Infrastructure Services Director is integral in the Town's ability to advance Town Council goals and initiatives.
The successful candidate will be a forward thinking, results oriented leader who values data and performance metrics in managing staff and projects. In addition, this person will pursue opportunities for collaborative decision making as well as engaging staff, Town leadership, external partners, and community members when appropriate. Change management skills will be critical for the new Director as the department continues to adapt to organizational changes and to the dynamic nature of large scale projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field is required for consideration.
Ten (10) or more years of related experience with extensive senior management experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered on a case by case basis.
A Professional Engineer licensure in South Carolina or the ability to obtain a Professional Engineer licensure in South Carolina is required.
Prior experience working within local government, specifically in infrastructure, public works, facilities management, or related areas is required for consideration.
