The City of Apache Junction (AJ) Development Services Department is known for its high level of responsiveness to customers regardless of project scope and scale. The city is searching for quality candidates that are interested in working in a fast paced but fun environment. The city is looking for a highly experienced professional engineer to be part of a team that ensures that the development of 8,500 acres of Arizona State Land Department land in the SW portion of the city develops in accordance with the master planned community standards and other city development standards. The city is expecting a high volume of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-used developments in this are of the city over the next 15 years with nearly 1,500 homes built per year. The City has a full-time population of 41,739 residents with a winter population of more than 75,000 and is expected to double in size over the next 10-15 years. Apache Junction is nestled at the base of the Superstition Mountains and Usery Mountain State Park which offer various recreational activities such as hiking, camping, biking, boating, and fishing in the Tonto National Forest as well as other recreational areas. AJ is currently experiencing residential housing growth as well as new businesses.
