Truckee Donner Public Utility District (Truckee Donner PUD) Truckee Donner PUD is a not-for-profit, community owned utility governed by locally elected Board of Directors. Headquartered in historic Truckee, CA, in the incomparably beautiful Lake Tahoe Region, the Truckee Donner PUD is one of the most stable and progressive utility districts anywhere. With roots dating to 1927, the PUD provides sustainable, reliable, and high-quality water and electric services to over 13,000 electric customers and over 12,500 water customers in greater Truckee, a service area of 45.5 square miles. The FY 2020 Budget of $42 million supports 74 FTEs. In preparation for major leadership transitions in 2020, the PUD Board has been engaged for over a year in meaningful, high-performance leadership development, creation of the PUD’s values, and application of its mission. Mission: To provide reliable, high quality water and electrical power services while meeting customer demand, and to manage District resources in a safe, open, responsible, environmentally sound manner at the lowest practical cost.
